The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period June 11–11, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 2:45 a.m. — Arrest: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers made a warrant arrest in the Porter Square area. Desiree Chiuchiolo, 43, of Malden, was charged with an outstanding warrant out of Chelsea District Court.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 9:14 a.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a business on Broadway reported that a suspect stole $14 of merchandise and fled.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 9:17 a.m. — Larceny Over $1,200: A resident on Massachusetts Avenue reported that their bicycle, valued at $1,399, was stolen from the front entrance of their home.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 9:27 a.m. — Hit-and-Run / Leave Scene of Property Damage: Police responded to the area of Steel Place on a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a cyclist. The cyclist sustained minor injuries.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 9:35 a.m. — Defacement of Property: A resident on Norfolk Street reported that an unknown individual had been on the roof of their building.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 10:13 a.m. — Arrest: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers made a warrant arrest on Massachusetts Avenue. John Loder, 48, of Cambridge, was charged with two outstanding warrants out of Cambridge District Court.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 11:00 a.m. — Arrest: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers made a warrant arrest in the Central Square area. Matthew McFarland, 39, unhoused, was charged with two outstanding warrants out of Cambridge District Court.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 11:06 a.m. — Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle: A Cambridge resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to operating an unregistered motorcycle without a license. The violations were uncovered during a traffic stop for an observed violation in the Central Square area.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 11:47 a.m. — Criminal Harassment: Police took a harassment report from a business owner in the Harvard Square area. The reporting person stated that a former employee hacked their computer system to obtain personal information and has been using it to make false allegations.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 12:45 p.m. — Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle: A Westborough resident reported malicious destruction to property. The victim stated their motorcycle was damaged while parked on Mt. Auburn Street.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 12:58 p.m. — Larceny: Police took a report of a past larceny on Temple Street. The reporting person stated that a welcome mat was missing from outside their residence.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 1:07 p.m. — Larceny Over $1,200: A resident on Concord Avenue reported that their bicycle, valued at $1,214, was stolen from the back of their residence.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 1:27 p.m. — Miscellaneous Report: A Cambridge resident on Fairfield Street reported that a former tenant had gained access to their property.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 2:06 p.m. — Hit-and-Run / Leave Scene of Property Damage: Police responded to Vassar Street for a report of a damaged electrical box.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 2:51 p.m. — Arrest — Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers responded to Rindge Avenue. Christopher Gorden, 49, of Cambridge, was charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon after it was alleged that he threatened a known person with a pair of scissors.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 3:08 p.m. — Threat to Commit a Crime / Unwanted Person: Police responded to Rindge Avenue for a report of an unwanted person. The reporting person stated that an unwanted individual had taken up residence in the common area of their building.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 3:13 p.m. — Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon: Police responded to the area of Raymond Street for a report of a person with a knife. The victim stated they were threatened by an individual holding a large knife.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 3:18 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a business on White Street reported that a suspect stole $326 of merchandise and fled.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 3:36 p.m. — Breaking and Entering (Daytime) / Larceny: A Cambridge resident reported that bicycles valued at $2,250 in total were stolen from the unlocked basement storage area of their residence on Dudley Street.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 4:10 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a business on Somerville Avenue reported that a suspect stole $150 of merchandise and fled.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 4:18 p.m. — Larceny Under $1,200: A resident on Massachusetts Avenue reported that a package containing $224 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 4:53 p.m. — Hit-and-Run / Leave Scene of Property Damage: Officers responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a past hit-and-run crash report. The reporting person stated their vehicle was struck while parked, causing damage.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 5:07 p.m. — Arrest: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers made a warrant arrest on Inman Street. Jorge Alives, 37, of Cambridge, was charged with two active warrants out of Somerville District Court.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 6:15 p.m. — Larceny Under $1,200: A Medford resident reported that their bicycle, valued at $560, was stolen from a bike rack in Porter Square.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 6:33 p.m. — Arrest: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers made a warrant arrest on CambridgePark Drive. Alex Gerace, 35, of Leominster, was charged with three warrants out of Cambridge District Court and one warrant out of Gardner District Court.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 7:20 p.m. — Malicious Destruction of Property: A resident on Porter Circle reported that their bicycle, valued at $620, was stolen from outside their residence.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 7:36 p.m. — Larceny Over $1,200: A resident on Elm Street reported that a package containing $429 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 7:51 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a business on JFK Street reported that a suspect stole merchandise. Police stopped and identified the suspect; all merchandise was returned. The business did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 7:56 p.m. — Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle: Police responded to Washington Street for a vandalism report. The reporting person stated that their car tire had been slashed.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 7:58 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Larceny: Police responded to Water Street to assist in locating a stolen motor vehicle.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 8:27 p.m. — Disorderly Conduct / Assault: Police responded to the area of Central Square, near the intersection of Brookline Street and Massachusetts Avenue, for reports of a fight in the roadway. The victim stated they had been physically assaulted by an unknown person, causing injury.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 8:51 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a business on Somerville Avenue reported that a suspect stole $156 of merchandise and fled.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 9:55 p.m. — Arrest — Trespass: According to the Cambridge Police Department's official public log, officers responded to a business on Massachusetts Avenue. Beruk Alemayehu, 27, of Cambridge, was charged with Trespass after he allegedly refused multiple requests to leave a business as it was closing.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 10:18 p.m. — Larceny Over $1,200: Police responded to the area of Rindge Avenue for a larceny report. The reporting person stated their shirt, which contained their wallet, was stolen from the waiting area of a pharmacy.
Thursday, June 11, 2026, 11:44 p.m. — Assault and Battery: Police responded to a business on Winthrop Street for a report of a disturbance. The reporting person stated that a staff member refused to let them use a bathroom, leading to a physical altercation.
