The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period July 7–7, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Tuesday, July 7, 8:42 a.m. — Pedestrian Crash: A crash involving a pedestrian at Cushing Street and Vineyard Street left the victim with minor injuries; EMS transported the victim to a local hospital. The vehicle operator was cited.
Tuesday, July 7, 9:06 a.m. — Civil Dispute/Harassment: A Traymore Street resident reported ongoing harassment and property damage involving a neighbor.
Tuesday, July 7, 9:08 a.m. — Arrest: Police responded to a Cambridge Street medical facility on a report of a disturbance; a staff member reported that a man threw hot coffee on staff and made verbal threats to harm them during a dispute over medication. Glaysay Lawrence, 29, of Lowell, was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Threats to Commit Crime.
Tuesday, July 7, 9:25 a.m. — Larceny: An Education Street business reported that a former employee failed to return company equipment valued at $1,174 after being terminated.
Tuesday, July 7, 9:45 a.m. — Scam/Fraud: A Franklin Street resident reported an unknown individual impersonating an out-of-state police officer and soliciting money.
Tuesday, July 7, 10:15 a.m. — Hit-and-Run: A vehicle was struck by another motor vehicle at Inman Street and Massachusetts Avenue while the owner was attempting to enter a parking lot; no injuries were reported.
Tuesday, July 7, 10:36 a.m. — Scam/Fraud: A Fulkerson Street resident reported being defrauded of approximately $20,000 by a known individual.
Tuesday, July 7, 11:06 a.m. — Larceny: A guest at an Acorn Park Drive hotel reported a bag containing personal items and documents was stolen from their room.
Tuesday, July 7, 11:10 a.m. — Hit-and-Run: A vehicle was struck in traffic on Upton Street; no injuries were reported.
Tuesday, July 7, 11:27 a.m. — Larceny from Person: A victim near Porter Square reported a shoulder bag and wallet were stolen near Pigeon Park on Massachusetts Avenue.
Tuesday, July 7, 11:48 a.m. — Arrest: An employee of a Somerville Avenue business reported a man stole $338 of merchandise. John Williams, 45, unhoused, was charged with Shoplifting by Asportation and held on a warrant out of Taunton District Court.
Tuesday, July 7, 12:44 p.m. — Larceny: A Wendell Street resident reported a bicycle valued at $1,572 was stolen from the lobby of their building.
Tuesday, July 7, 1:17 p.m. — Larceny: A Cottage Park Avenue resident reported a bicycle valued at $746 was stolen from a locked bike rack.
Tuesday, July 7, 2:47 p.m. — Arrest: Police responded to a Massachusetts Avenue building on a report of a breaking and entering and located a suspect attempting to flee through a window. Patricia Gil, 41, of Andover, was charged with Breaking and Entering.
Tuesday, July 7, 4:55 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Theft: A victim reported their vehicle was stolen from a parking lot on Massachusetts Avenue.
Tuesday, July 7, 5:02 p.m. — Suspicious Package: An unattended package on Sixth Street was inspected by the Explosive Ordnance Unit and determined not to be hazardous.
Tuesday, July 7, 6:42 p.m. — Attempted Breaking and Entering: A Concord Avenue resident reported an unknown individual attempted to open their parked vehicle's door outside a nearby residence.
Tuesday, July 7, 7:27 p.m. — Hit-and-Run: A vehicle parked on Prescott Street was struck, causing damage; the other driver left the scene.
Tuesday, July 7, 7:30 p.m. — Civil Dispute: An Elm Street resident reported a dispute with an unknown person over rental property.
Tuesday, July 7, 9:06 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a Mount Auburn Street business reported a suspect stole $500 of merchandise and fled.
Tuesday, July 7, 9:58 p.m. — Larceny from Residence: A North First Street resident reported that jewelry valued at $2,000 was stolen from their home while they were away.
Tuesday, July 7, 11:31 p.m. — Breaking and Entering (in progress): A Leonard Avenue resident reported their door was found ajar; officers checked the residence, found no one inside, and nothing appeared missing.
