The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period June 17–23, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).


Wednesday, June 17, 12:20 a.m.Assault & Battery: A Lowell resident reported being punched in the face by an unknown suspect while waiting for a bus in Porter Square.

Wednesday, June 17, 3:14 a.m.Arrest: Security at a Cambridgepark Drive building found a suspect inside rummaging through drawers. Kaylah Howes, 36, of Braintree, was charged with Larceny from a Building and Breaking & Entering.

Wednesday, June 17, 9:42 a.m.Motor Vehicle — Unlicensed Operation: A Lynn resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop on Main Street.

Wednesday, June 17, 9:42 a.m.Larceny: A box containing $500 in cash was reported stolen from a Mount Auburn Street address.

Wednesday, June 17, 11:03 a.m.Threats: Two neighbors had a disagreement in the common area of their Memorial Drive building, during which one made verbal threats toward the other.

Wednesday, June 17, 11:17 a.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A motor vehicle crash was reported on Western Avenue; no injuries reported.

Wednesday, June 17, 11:27 a.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $700 was reported stolen from the backyard of a Porter Road residence.

Wednesday, June 17, 11:49 a.m.Identity Fraud / Larceny: A victim reported their bag was stolen from their gym on Massachusetts Avenue; an unauthorized person subsequently cashed a check that was inside.

Wednesday, June 17, 12:04 p.m.Assault & Battery / Shoplifting: A Somerville resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges of Assault & Battery and Shoplifting after reportedly stealing from a local business near Broadway and Ware Street and later spitting on a person outside.

Wednesday, June 17, 12:28 p.m.Malicious Destruction of Property: A city employee reported a grate on the exterior of a city-owned building on Pearl Street had been damaged.

Wednesday, June 17, 1:33 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $900 was reported stolen from a bike rack in front of a Memorial Drive address.

Wednesday, June 17, 1:37 p.m.Larceny: A rental motor vehicle was reported unreturned beyond the end of its contract; reported near First Street and Charles Street.

Wednesday, June 17, 1:59 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $80 was reported stolen from a bike rack in Porter Square.

Wednesday, June 17, 2:35 p.m.Improper Tow: A resident reported their vehicle was improperly towed from a private parking space to which they have authorized access; reported on Harvard Street.

Wednesday, June 17, 3:12 p.m.Assault & Battery: A Woburn resident reported being shoved by a known person inside a business on Massachusetts Avenue.

Wednesday, June 17, 3:20 p.m.Larceny: A package containing $50 in merchandise was reported stolen from the front of a Clifton Street residence.

Wednesday, June 17, 5:07 p.m.Larceny: An e-bike valued at $1,800 was reported stolen from outside a Cedar Street residence.

Wednesday, June 17, 5:30 p.m.Arrest: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported a suspect had stolen $98 in merchandise. Joseph Brashears-Hunt, 42, of Waltham, was charged with Shoplifting by Concealment.

Wednesday, June 17, 7:25 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $120 was reported stolen from the backyard of a Montgomery Street residence.

Wednesday, June 17, 8:23 p.m.Threats: An Inman Street resident reported that a known person threatened to kill them when the two met in their building lobby.

Wednesday, June 17, 9:51 p.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Columbia Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Wednesday, June 17, 11:05 p.m.Attempted Breaking & Entering: A Cambridgepark Drive resident reported that an unknown male attempted to follow them into their unit.

Thursday, June 18, 5:29 a.m.Motor Vehicle Theft: A motor vehicle parked on Lakeview Avenue was reported stolen.

Thursday, June 18, 6:51 a.m.Arrest: A suspect was found injured in an apparent attempt to break into a Putnam Avenue residence. Emmanuel Jackson, 39, of Cambridge, was charged with Breaking & Entering and Vandalize Property.

Thursday, June 18, 6:59 a.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A crash involving an electric scooter was reported near Cambridge Street and Hovey Avenue; the rider sustained minor injuries.

Thursday, June 18, 9:17 a.m.Attempted Breaking & Entering: An unknown person reportedly attempted to enter a Pleasant Street residence through a fire escape.

Thursday, June 18, 10:14 a.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $1,500 was reported stolen from a Newtowne Court address.

Thursday, June 18, 10:44 a.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Spring Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Thursday, June 18, 10:51 a.m.Larceny from Building: A suitcase containing personal documents was reported stolen from the basement of a Centre Street residence.

Thursday, June 18, 12:42 p.m.Larceny: Two scooters valued at $750 total were reported stolen from outside an Essex Street residence.

Thursday, June 18, 12:57 p.m.Identity Fraud: A Middlesex Street resident reported an unknown person attempted to use their personal information to open an unauthorized account.

Thursday, June 18, 1:37 p.m.Larceny from Person: A purse and prescription medications were reported stolen in Porter Square near Somerville Avenue.

Thursday, June 18, 2:15 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $2,000 was reported stolen from Porter Square.

Thursday, June 18, 2:50 p.m.Criminal Harassment: A Cambridge resident reported receiving unwanted texts and social media messages from a known person; reported on Massachusetts Avenue.

Thursday, June 18, 3:12 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A crash was reported at Broadway and Third Street; no injuries reported.

Thursday, June 18, 3:29 p.m.Attempted Breaking & Entering: A Pleasant Street resident's security camera captured an unknown person attempting to gain access to their building.

Thursday, June 18, 3:59 p.m.Larceny: A package containing $77 in merchandise was reported stolen from the front of a Hardwick Street residence.

Thursday, June 18, 4:24 p.m.Larceny: A known person entrusted with cash and personal documents by an Albany Street resident has refused to return them.

Thursday, June 18, 4:30 p.m.Threats: A workplace verbal altercation near Bennett Street and University Road escalated to threatening voicemails.

Thursday, June 18, 5:24 p.m.Shoplifting: Suspects stole $424 in merchandise from a Cambridgeside Place business and fled.

Thursday, June 18, 5:25 p.m.Fraud: A Somerville resident reported receiving a call from someone posing as a federal agent demanding $61,000; reported on Massachusetts Avenue.

Thursday, June 18, 5:43 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $530 was reported stolen from behind a Brookline Street residence.

Thursday, June 18, 7:06 p.m.Suspicious Activity: A Ware Street resident reported observing an unknown individual standing on their fire escape.

Thursday, June 18, 7:27 p.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $245 in merchandise from an Alewife Brook Parkway business; officers stopped and identified the suspect and all merchandise was returned.

Friday, June 19, 1:10 a.m.Motor Vehicle Break-In: A vehicle parked in a Dudley Street driveway was broken into; a set of keys valued at $600 and a watch were reported stolen.

Friday, June 19, 7:05 a.m.Arrest: John Hobby, 56, of Cambridge, was arrested on an active warrant out of Cambridge District Court. (Waltham)

Friday, June 19, 7:38 a.m.Motor Vehicle — Suspended License: A Cambridge resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license following a traffic stop on Fresh Pond Parkway.

Friday, June 19, 8:41 a.m.Motor Vehicle Break-In / Credit Card Fraud: A vehicle parked at an Upland Road residence was broken into; a wallet was stolen and multiple attempts were made to use the cards inside.

Friday, June 19, 9:28 a.m.Threats: A Cambridgepark Drive resident reported being threatened by a known individual via social media.

Friday, June 19, 10:10 a.m.Identity Fraud: A Museum Way resident reported an unknown person used their personal information to apply for unemployment compensation.

Friday, June 19, 10:23 a.m.Larceny from Building: Approximately $126 was reported stolen from a business on Eliot Street.

Friday, June 19, 11:44 a.m.Larceny: Parts and personal items were reported stolen from a bicycle at a Linnaean Street address.

Friday, June 19, 11:56 a.m.Trespass / Disturbance: A known individual was reported attempting to force entry into a Mount Auburn Street building, banging and slamming the door.

Friday, June 19, 1:07 p.m.Larceny from Building: Approximately $213 was reported stolen from a business on Eliot Street.

Friday, June 19, 1:17 p.m.Motor Vehicle Break-In: A vehicle parked on Richard Avenue was broken into; an envelope containing $4,000 in cash was reported stolen.

Friday, June 19, 1:51 p.m.Unattended Package / EOD Response: Officers assisted Belmont Police with an unattended package; it was inspected by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit and determined not to be hazardous.

Friday, June 19, 2:26 p.m.Fraud: A Franklin Street resident reported being deceived into paying $9,500 for an item valued at $35.

Friday, June 19, 3:01 p.m.Larceny from Residence: Multiple pieces of jewelry valued at approximately $2,000 were reported stolen from inside a Sherman Street residence.

Friday, June 19, 3:29 p.m.Shoplifting: A suspect attempted to conceal approximately $840 in steaks on their person at an Alewife Brook Parkway business; the suspect was stopped, identified, and all merchandise was recovered.

Friday, June 19, 3:54 p.m.Fraud: A Somerville resident reported being defrauded of a $3,600 deposit on an apartment rental that was not available to rent; reported on Massachusetts Avenue.

Friday, June 19, 3:57 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $500 was reported stolen near Dunster Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Friday, June 19, 5:29 p.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Temple Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Friday, June 19, 5:42 p.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $60.67 in merchandise from a Somerville Avenue business and fled.

Friday, June 19, 6:26 p.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $44.15 in merchandise from a JFK Street business and fled.

Friday, June 19, 6:30 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle and U-lock valued at $1,000 were reported stolen from the porch of an Orchard Street residence.

Friday, June 19, 7:50 p.m.Suspicious Activity / Found Property: A Hawthorne Street resident found a bicycle on their property believed to be stolen; the bicycle was taken for safekeeping.

Friday, June 19, 10:41 p.m.Report of Gunshot: A gunshot was reported in the distance near Sherman Street; no witnesses located, no ballistic evidence or victims found.

Saturday, June 20, 8:33 a.m.Malicious Destruction of Property / Trespass: A known individual with a prior trespassing history at a Cambridgepark Drive building reportedly caused approximately $20,000 in property damage.

Saturday, June 20, 9:13 a.m.Larceny: A package containing $30 in merchandise was reported stolen from the front of a Columbia Street residence.

Saturday, June 20, 10:10 a.m.Arrest: Jessica McNeil, 36, of Cambridge, was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Cambridge District Court and one warrant out of New Bedford District Court. (Brookline Street)

Saturday, June 20, 1:38 p.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Main Street near Vassar Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Saturday, June 20, 2:04 p.m.Malicious Destruction of Property: A motorcycle was reported damaged and knocked over on Binney Street.

Saturday, June 20, 3:27 p.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $128 in merchandise from a Cambridgeside Place business and fled.

Saturday, June 20, 3:36 p.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Memorial Drive was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Saturday, June 20, 10:51 p.m.Assault & Battery: Two suspects physically assaulted two staff members at a Harvard Square business.

Sunday, June 21, 9:15 a.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole an undetermined amount of merchandise from a Broadway business and fled.

Sunday, June 21, 10:32 a.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $40 in merchandise from a JFK Street business and fled.

Sunday, June 21, 10:58 a.m.Larceny: An unknown person opened packages outside a Columbia Street residence and stole multiple items valued at approximately $80.

Sunday, June 21, 11:03 a.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Monsignor O'Brien Highway was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Sunday, June 21, 11:03 a.m.Hit and Run — Cyclist Injured: A hit-and-run crash involving a cyclist was reported on Sherman Street; the cyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Sunday, June 21, 11:24 a.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Madison Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Sunday, June 21, 12:42 p.m.Arrest — Firearm: Daniel E. McGuire, 46, of Cambridge, was arrested after allegedly pointing a firearm at an invited house guest during an argument on Earhart Street. McGuire was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Sunday, June 21, 1:45 p.m.Unattended Package / EOD Response: An unattended package near Broad Canal Way was inspected by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit and determined not to be hazardous.

Sunday, June 21, 2:14 p.m.Identity Fraud: A Cambridgepark Drive resident reported an unknown person used their personal information to overdraw $3,988 from their account.

Sunday, June 21, 2:56 p.m.Assault & Battery / Shoplifting: A store employee in Porter Square reported a suspect slapped their arm when confronted about stealing $12 in merchandise.

Sunday, June 21, 4:21 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at approximately $700 was reported stolen from a bike rack near a school on Broadway.

Sunday, June 21, 4:40 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at approximately $700 was reported stolen from a bike rack on Main Street.

Sunday, June 21, 4:44 p.m.Assault & Battery: Two individuals were involved in a physical altercation near Cambridge Street and First Street following an argument over a traffic matter; minor injuries were reported.

Sunday, June 21, 5:08 p.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Columbia Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Sunday, June 21, 7:36 p.m.Dog Bite: A person walking a trail at Kingsley Park on Fresh Pond Parkway reported being nipped on the calf by a dog; the victim declined emergency medical transport.

Sunday, June 21, 9:57 p.m.Larceny from Building: Bicycle tires valued at $500 were reported stolen from an unlocked basement at a Rice Street residence.

Monday, June 22, 12:29 a.m.Arrest — Operating Under the Influence: Officers responding to a call near Putnam Avenue found a man asleep behind the wheel of a running motor vehicle and observed multiple indicators of impairment. Giovani Hoyos-Corrales, 60, of Cambridge, was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor (OUI-Liquor).

Monday, June 22, 7:37 a.m.Threats: A person at a Church Street shelter reported that a known individual made threats to beat them up.

Monday, June 22, 7:42 a.m.Attempted Extortion: A Western Avenue resident reported receiving threatening texts from an unknown person demanding $200.

Monday, June 22, 8:09 a.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $25 in soap from an Alewife Brook Parkway business; officers stopped and identified the suspect and all merchandise was returned.

Monday, June 22, 1:32 p.m.Shoplifting: A suspect stole $30 in merchandise from a Central Square business and fled.

Monday, June 22, 1:51 p.m.Larceny from Building: A package containing $568 in merchandise was reported stolen from the front of a Lee Street residence.

Monday, June 22, 1:54 p.m.Vandalism: A package on Massachusetts Avenue was reported ripped open and medication inside was uncapped.

Monday, June 22, 1:59 p.m.Hit and Run: A vehicle parked near Broadway and Trowbridge Street was struck and damaged; the driver fled the scene.

Monday, June 22, 2:04 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash — Cyclist Injured: A crash involving a cyclist was reported near Massachusetts Avenue and Windsor Street; the cyclist sustained minor injuries.

Monday, June 22, 2:55 p.m.Attempted Extortion: A Lincoln Way resident reported receiving a call demanding $40,000 for a kidnapped relative; the relative was confirmed safe and not in danger.

Monday, June 22, 3:27 p.m.Larceny: A bicycle valued at $200 was reported stolen from a bike rack outside a Yerxa Road apartment.

Monday, June 22, 3:34 p.m.Vandalism / Harassment: A Washington Street resident reported a neighbor damaged their table amid an ongoing dispute.

Monday, June 22, 4:52 p.m.Malicious Destruction of Property: A Brookline Street resident reported that a known individual disposed of all their personal belongings.

Monday, June 22, 5:06 p.m.Shoplifting: A Lexington resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a charge of Shoplifting by Asportation after stealing $51 in merchandise from a Somerville Avenue business near Porter Square.

Monday, June 22, 5:43 p.m.Motor Vehicle Vandalism: An unknown suspect punched the mirror of a parked vehicle near Massachusetts Avenue, causing damage.
