Per the department's website, "Gold Star Pool offers free public swim to Cambridge residents," giving families access to "the facility's two ADA-compliant pools" to "beat the summer heat."

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Cambridge Youth Hockey, which calls itself "home of the FALCONS," has opened registration for next season. The club's website states "CYH 2026-2027 Placement Registration Now Open" and that it is "now enrolling for the winter season." The organization also flagged an upcoming equipment mandate: "Starting August 1 Massachusetts youth hockey players are now required to wear neck guards in games and practices," the club said, adding, "Please come prepared!" Home ice for CYH practices and games is Simoni Skating Rink in East Cambridge, according to the club.
