The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period September 12-14, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Saturday, September 12, 1:29 a.m. — Assault: A victim reported being punched in the head by an unknown individual at a Cambridge Street business.
Saturday, September 12, 2:10 a.m. — Arrest: A vehicle fled the scene of a crash near Franklin and Sidney Streets before being stopped; the driver showed signs of impairment and had an open container of alcohol. Aaron Alfaro-Gutierrez, 21, of Saugus, was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Saturday, September 12, 1:04 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $300 in merchandise from a Cambridge Street business and fled before officers arrived.
Saturday, September 12, 1:04 p.m. — Identity Fraud: A Massachusetts Avenue resident reported unauthorized card charges totaling $226.
Saturday, September 12, 1:51 p.m. — Arrest: Officers found a man in Porter Square in possession of a reportedly stolen bicycle. Devon White, 34, of Braintree, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Vandalizing Property, and two outstanding warrants from Boston District Court.
Saturday, September 12, 2:18 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $20 in merchandise from a River Street business and fled before officers arrived.
Saturday, September 12, 3:11 p.m. — Arrest: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported a theft of $55 in merchandise. Kenneth Brooks, 52, of Boston, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting by Concealment and an outstanding warrant from Boston District Court.
Saturday, September 12, 3:26 p.m. — Unarmed Robbery: A victim reported a suspect forcefully grabbed $135 from them inside a White Street business; a criminal complaint will be sought against a Cambridge resident.
Saturday, September 12, 3:54 p.m. — Assault: A victim reported being physically assaulted by an unknown person near Central Square and Western Avenue.
Saturday, September 12, 7:41 p.m. — Larceny: A Cambridge resident's moped, valued at $350, was stolen from a bike rack at Garden Street and Massachusetts Avenue.
Saturday, September 12, 9:09 p.m. — Assault: A victim reported being pushed by an unknown individual while walking on Western Avenue.
Saturday, September 12, 9:47 p.m. — Attempted Break-in: A Trowbridge Street resident reported a failed attempt to break into their parked vehicle.
Sunday, September 13, 2:07 a.m. — Larceny: A Cambridge resident's e-bike, valued at $800, was stolen from a bike rack on Massachusetts Avenue.
Sunday, September 13, 2:29 a.m. — Arrest: Officers responding to a report of a fight in Central Square found a victim had been kicked, causing significant injury; during the arrest, one suspect kneed an officer. Michael Cabrera-Luna, 22, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (shod foot) and Aggravated Assault and Battery. Lessly Cabrera-Luna, 24, of West Palm Beach, Florida, was arrested and charged with the same offenses plus Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
Sunday, September 13, 8:21 a.m. — Traffic Summons: A Cambridge resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges of Uninsured and Unregistered Motor Vehicle following a traffic stop on Main Street.
Sunday, September 13, 11:40 a.m. — Traffic Summons: A Brookline resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges of Attaching Plates and Unregistered Motor Vehicle following a traffic stop at Pleasant Street and Western Avenue.
Sunday, September 13, 4:21 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a JFK Street business reported a suspect stole $187.47 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Sunday, September 13, 4:35 p.m. — Trespassing Summons: A Jamaica Plain resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a trespassing charge following a disturbance at Central Square.
Sunday, September 13, 4:51 p.m. — Assault Summons: A Cambridge resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on an assault and battery charge following a disturbance on Main Street.
Sunday, September 13, 5:58 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of an Alewife Brook Parkway business reported a suspect stole $645.38 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Sunday, September 13, 6:12 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported three suspects stole approximately $400 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Sunday, September 13, 7:34 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a JFK Street business reported a suspect stole $100 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Monday, September 14, 8:27 a.m. — Arrest: Estefani Diaz-Lemus, 21, of East Boston, was arrested and charged with Trespassing on Mt. Auburn Street.
Monday, September 14, 9:05 a.m. — Arrest: Store employees on Massachusetts Avenue reported a man broke a theft detection device, stole $200 in merchandise, and urinated outside the store. Scott Rudnisky, 42, of Holbrook, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Shoplifting and Defacing Property.
Monday, September 14, 9:52 a.m. — Stolen Vehicle: A stolen motor vehicle was reported on Antrim Street.
Monday, September 14, 10:16 a.m. — Identity Theft: A Ware Street resident reported an unknown individual used their personal information to purchase a firearm.
Monday, September 14, 11:17 a.m. — Larceny: A Massachusetts Avenue resident reported a package containing $120 in merchandise was stolen from their doorstep.
Monday, September 14, 1:08 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported a suspect stole $45 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Monday, September 14, 1:27 p.m. — Breaking and Entering: A Bishop Allen Drive business was broken into; items valued at $1,000 were stolen.
Monday, September 14, 1:39 p.m. — Larceny: A Rindge Avenue resident's bicycle, valued at $2,000, was stolen from their porch.
Monday, September 14, 2:05 p.m. — Larceny: A Roxbury resident's moped was stolen from outside a First Street business.
Monday, September 14, 2:16 p.m. — Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle): A Thorndike Street resident's vehicle was broken into while parked outside their residence; items valued at $1,199 were stolen.
Monday, September 14, 3:29 p.m. — Larceny: A victim reported their headphones were stolen inside a Massachusetts Avenue business.
Monday, September 14, 3:44 p.m. — Arrest: Thomas Sheil, 51, of Cambridge, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license following a traffic stop at Massachusetts Avenue and Pleasant Street.
Monday, September 14, 4:01 p.m. — Hit and Run: A vehicle parked on Kendall Street was struck and damaged; the responsible party fled.
Monday, September 14, 4:40 p.m. — Identity Fraud: A Cambridge resident reported multiple unauthorized transactions totaling $466.49.
Monday, September 14, 5:09 p.m. — Arrest: A security guard at an Alewife Brook Parkway business reported a man exposed himself and urinated in public. Getnet Assaferew, 51, of Cambridge, was arrested and charged with Open and Gross Lewdness.
Monday, September 14, 5:15 p.m. — Larceny: A Cambridge resident's bicycle, valued at $700, was stolen from outside a Mt. Auburn Street business.
Monday, September 14, 5:39 p.m. — Traffic Summons: A Boston resident will be summonsed on a charge of Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and a Brookline resident on a charge of Unregistered Motor Vehicle, following a traffic stop at Putnam Avenue and Sidney Street.
Monday, September 14, 6:08 p.m. — Larceny: A Cambridge resident's scooter, valued at $400, was stolen from outside an Alewife Brook Parkway business.
Monday, September 14, 7:23 p.m. — Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle): A Cambridge resident's vehicle was broken into outside a Cowperthwaite Street business; items valued at $100 or more were stolen.
Monday, September 14, 7:41 p.m. — Bicycle Crash: A cyclist was involved in a crash at Prospect Street and Broadway; no injuries were reported, and the cyclist was cited.
Monday, September 14, 9:24 p.m. — Assault: A victim reported an unknown individual yelling at them on Memorial Drive.
Monday, September 14, 9:53 p.m. — Threats: Police responded to Rindge Avenue for a report of an individual threatening to commit a crime.
