The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period October 4-4, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Saturday, October 4, 12:01 a.m. — Breaking and Entering: Three individuals entered a Clifton Place residence and became confrontational with the victim, according to a past-incident report.
Saturday, October 4, 2:57 a.m. — Arrest: A victim on Massachusetts Avenue reported being threatened with a sharp object during an attempted vehicle theft. Michael Smith, 29, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a dangerous weapon, and use of a motor vehicle without authority.
Saturday, October 4, 9:57 a.m. — Larceny: A bag was stolen from the floor where the victim had placed it on Memorial Drive.
Saturday, October 4, 10:51 a.m. — Threats: A victim at a Huron Avenue residence reported another individual yelling threats at them.
Saturday, October 4, 12:40 p.m. — Arrest: Police made an arrest on Lambert Street on firearms charges. Kerny Gachette, 26, of Medford, was arrested and charged with possession of a large capacity handgun, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of an untraceable firearm.
Saturday, October 4, 2:42 p.m. — Hit and Run: A parked vehicle on Massachusetts Avenue was struck and damaged by another vehicle that left the scene.
Saturday, October 4, 6:11 p.m. — Hit and Run: A motorcycle was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Main Street; minor injuries were reported.
Saturday, October 4, 8:00 p.m. — Larceny: An electric scooter and charger valued at $700 were stolen from outside a business on Massachusetts Avenue.
Saturday, October 4, 8:02 p.m. — Property Destruction: Malicious destruction of property was reported on Fairfield Street.
