The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period October 2-4, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).


Friday, October 2, 4:21 a.m. — Arrest: Police responded to the Harvard Street area on a vandalism and property complaint. Montee Cosby, 30, of Chicago, was charged with trespassing, shoplifting, and defacing property.

Friday, October 2, 8:00 a.m. — Property Damage: A truck struck and damaged building scaffolding on the 0 block of Rogers Street; the driver left the scene.

Friday, October 2, 8:15 a.m. — Arrest: On Wendell Street, Robert Mitchell, 35, of Cambridge, was arrested on two active warrants out of Cambridge and Malden District Courts.

Friday, October 2, 8:19 a.m. — Traffic Stop: Following a stop on Massachusetts Avenue, a Cambridge resident will be summonsed for operating with a suspended or revoked license.

Friday, October 2, 10:53 a.m. — Arrest: On Pleasant Street, Paul White, 60, of Boston, was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon and an active warrant out of Cambridge District Court.

Friday, October 2, 11:19 a.m. — MV Crash: A past crash on Massachusetts Avenue involving a cyclist resulted in minor injuries.

Friday, October 2, 11:32 a.m. — Larceny: A package containing $300 in merchandise was stolen from outside a residence on Hancock Street.

Friday, October 2, 11:38 a.m. — Traffic Stop: Following a stop near Allen Street and Massachusetts Avenue, a Boston resident will be summonsed for operating with a suspended license.

Friday, October 2, 11:59 a.m. — Hit and Run: A parked vehicle was struck and damaged on Pearl Street.

Friday, October 2, 12:17 p.m. — Disturbance: An unknown individual yelling obscenities caused an argument near Fulkerson and Rogers Streets.

Friday, October 2, 1:57 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $429.92 in merchandise from a Massachusetts Avenue business and fled before police arrived.

Friday, October 2, 2:43 p.m. — Larceny: A bicycle valued at $1,433 was stolen from outside a residence on Putnam Avenue.

Friday, October 2, 3:10 p.m. — Arrest: Near Berkshire and York Streets, Zachary N'guia, 34, of Cambridge, was arrested on an extraditable warrant out of Sanford, Maine.

Friday, October 2, 3:31 p.m. — Assault: On Massachusetts Avenue, a victim reported being slapped by a known person during an argument over money.

Friday, October 2, 3:31 p.m. — MV Crash: A crash involving a bicyclist near Massachusetts Avenue and Newport Road caused minor injuries; the vehicle operator was cited.

Friday, October 2, 4:40 p.m. — MV Crash: Near Bishop Allen Drive and Douglass Street, a reporting person believed a vehicle struck their dog; the dog was examined by a veterinarian and was uninjured.

Friday, October 2, 4:52 p.m. — Breaking and Entering: A past break-in was reported on Fairmount Street after debris was found on the stairs; nothing is believed to have been stolen.

Friday, October 2, 5:45 p.m. — Property Damage: An unknown individual broke a vehicle's side mirror on Holden Street.

Friday, October 2, 6:26 p.m. — Larceny: A bicycle valued at $500 was stolen from a courtyard on Sherman Street.

Friday, October 2, 8:21 p.m. — Hit and Run: A parked vehicle was struck and damaged near Massachusetts Avenue and Meacham Road.

Saturday, October 3, 9:06 a.m. — Traffic Stop: Following a stop on Upland Road, a Somerville resident will be summonsed for operating a motor vehicle after license suspension, subsequent offense.

Saturday, October 3, 9:11 a.m. — Larceny: A bicycle valued at $100 was stolen from a bike rack on Massachusetts Avenue.

Saturday, October 3, 9:33 a.m. — Arrest: On Somerville Avenue, Aaron Ravanales Lopez, 31, of Boston, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by asportation and an active warrant out of Roxbury District Court.

Saturday, October 3, 11:16 a.m. — Traffic Stop: Near Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street, an Everett resident will be summonsed for operating after license suspension, subsequent offense.

Saturday, October 3, 11:34 a.m. — Arrest: A disturbance in Harvard Square near Brattle and JFK Streets led to an arrest. Shuaib Mewborn, 48, of Boston, was charged with disturbing the peace, assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery, and breach of the peace while armed.

Saturday, October 3, 12:17 p.m. — Hit and Run: On Massachusetts Avenue, a pedestrian was bumped by a vehicle while crossing the street, sustaining minor injuries; the driver left the scene.

Saturday, October 3, 1:00 p.m. — Identity Fraud: An unknown individual applied for a loan using a victim's personal information; reported on CambridgePark Drive.

Saturday, October 3, 1:11 p.m. — Larceny: A cell phone was stolen outside a business near Cambridge Street.

Saturday, October 3, 1:16 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $36 in merchandise from a Massachusetts Avenue business and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 1:32 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $147.95 in merchandise from a business on Alewife Brook Parkway and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 1:38 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $106.23 in merchandise from a business on Somerville Avenue and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 2:11 p.m. — Organized Retail Crime: A suspect stole $2,689 in merchandise from a business on Alewife Brook Parkway. A Boston resident will be summonsed on charges of shoplifting (third offense), being a common and notorious thief, and organized retail crime.

Saturday, October 3, 3:07 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $102 in merchandise from a business on Alewife Brook Parkway and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 3:08 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $503.81 in merchandise from a business on Alewife Brook Parkway and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 4:03 p.m. — Threats: An unknown individual yelled threats at victims on Franklin Street.

Saturday, October 3, 4:11 p.m. — Hit and Run: A parked vehicle was struck and damaged on Pleasant Street.

Saturday, October 3, 4:34 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $37.18 in merchandise from a Massachusetts Avenue business and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 4:39 p.m. — Identity Fraud: An unknown individual used a victim's name and information to obtain a credit card; reported on Lawn Street.

Saturday, October 3, 5:20 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $353.44 in merchandise from a Brattle Street business and fled.

Saturday, October 3, 5:47 p.m. — Arrest: On Massachusetts Avenue, Montee Cosby, 30, of Cambridge, was arrested after a business employee reported $415.77 in stolen merchandise. Cosby was charged with shoplifting by concealment.

Saturday, October 3, 7:25 p.m. — Disturbance: An unwanted party caused a disturbance inside a business on Alewife Brook Parkway.

Saturday, October 3, 9:14 p.m. — Stolen Vehicle: A motor vehicle was reported stolen near Spring and Third Streets.

Sunday, October 4, 12:01 a.m. — Breaking and Entering: On Clifton Place, a victim reported three individuals entered their residence and became confrontational.

Sunday, October 4, 2:57 a.m. — Arrest: On Massachusetts Avenue, a victim reported being threatened with a sharp object during an attempted vehicle theft. Michael Smith, 29, of Dorchester, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a dangerous weapon, and use of a motor vehicle without authority.

Sunday, October 4, 9:57 a.m. — Larceny: A bag was stolen after being set down on the floor near Memorial Drive.

Sunday, October 4, 10:51 a.m. — Threats: An individual yelled threats at a victim at a Huron Avenue residence.

Sunday, October 4, 12:40 p.m. — Arrest: On Lambert Street, Kerny Gachette, 26, of Medford, was arrested on charges of possession of a large capacity handgun, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of an untraceable firearm.

Sunday, October 4, 2:42 p.m. — Hit and Run: A parked vehicle was struck and damaged on Massachusetts Avenue.

Sunday, October 4, 6:11 p.m. — Hit and Run: A crash involving a motorcycle near Main Street resulted in minor injuries; the driver left the scene.

Sunday, October 4, 8:00 p.m. — Larceny: An electric scooter and charger valued at $700 were stolen from outside a business on Massachusetts Avenue.

Sunday, October 4, 8:02 p.m. — Property Damage: Malicious destruction of property was reported on Fairfield Street.
