Cambridge Public Library, in its weekly Directors Update posted Oct. 23, said new federal immigration requirements are changing who qualifies for MassHealth. The library said MassHealth will contact affected individuals directly and will mail documents in a blue envelope, and it urged patrons to make sure their contact information is current with MassHealth and to check their mailboxes. The library said anyone with questions about the new requirements can get help, and it directed residents to [MassHealth SNAP information on the city's website](www.cambridgema.gov/SNAPMassHealth) to learn more.

The update also noted that Mayor Siddiqui and City Manager Huang will host the city's annual Halloween Trick or Treat on the lawn of Cambridge City Hall on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. The library described the event as free and family friendly, with activities, candy and "friendly faces from across the City." Non-food treats will also be available, and costumes are encouraged.

The update additionally listed a range of weekly library programs for children, teens and older adults at branches including Boudreau, Central Square, Collins, Main, O'Connell, O'Neill and Valente, among them sing-alongs, story times, book groups, ESOL classes, tech help sessions and several Halloween-themed programs at the O'Connell and O'Neill branches later in the week.
