Early voting underway in Cambridge ahead of Nov. 3 election
Cambridge City Councillor Marc McGovern announced that early voting for the Nov. 3 election began Oct. 17 and runs through Oct. 30, with a voter registration deadline of Oct. 24, while also highlighting the free EZ Ride bus service in Kendall Square.
Cambridge City Councillor Marc McGovern announced in his weekly newsletter that early voting for the Nov. 3 election began Oct. 17 and continues through Friday, Oct. 30. Residents who are not yet registered have until Saturday, Oct. 24, to update their registration before the election.
McGovern urged residents to check their voter registration status and make any necessary updates before the deadline. He said Cambridge residents can find dates, times and locations for in-person early voting through a link provided in the newsletter.
In the same newsletter, McGovern described a recent visit to learn about EZ Ride, a free, privately funded bus service that runs from Cambridge Crossing through Kendall Square to Cambridgeport. He said he joined Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and fellow councillors Patty Nolan and Cathie Zusy for the visit. According to McGovern, the service recently expanded its hours and now runs buses every 8 minutes during commuting hours. He said the service is open to the public, not just those who work in Kendall Square, and that its goal is to reduce car traffic in the Kendall Square business district.
McGovern said he looks forward to continuing to work with EZ Ride and exploring ways to expand shuttle services throughout the city.
