The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period September 7–7, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, September 7, 12:50 a.m. — Assault and Battery: Police responded to Washington Street for reports of a fight; involved persons were identified and released. Non-life-threatening injuries were reported.
Monday, September 7, 8:11 a.m. — Threats: Police responded to the area of Washington Street and Windsor Street for a disturbance. A reporting person stated an unknown individual was making threats against them and their family.
Monday, September 7, 8:32 a.m. — Unlicensed Motor Vehicle Operation: During a traffic stop at Brattle Street and Palmer Street, an Everett resident was cited and will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Monday, September 7, 9:31 a.m. — Larceny from Motor Vehicle: A Kenwood Street resident reported their vehicle had been broken into while parked in front of their residence; a wallet containing multiple credit cards was stolen, and the cards were subsequently used in unauthorized transactions.
Monday, September 7, 10:04 a.m. — Arrest: An employee of a Somerville Avenue business reported that Ryan Hurley had stolen several energy drinks from the store. Ryan Hurley, 43, of Somerville, was charged with shoplifting by asportation.
Monday, September 7, 12:51 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported a suspect had stolen $68 in merchandise; a Malden resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a charge of shoplifting by concealment.
Monday, September 7, 1:01 p.m. — Hit and Run: A reporting person stated their vehicle was struck while parked on Rindge Avenue, causing damage; the other driver left the scene.
Monday, September 7, 1:13 p.m. — Larceny from Building: A victim on Boardman Street reported that a Social Security card and keys were missing from their bag.
Monday, September 7, 1:21 p.m. — Threats: A Temple Street resident reported being the victim of threats.
Monday, September 7, 1:30 p.m. — Suspicious Package: Officers responded to the area of Mount Auburn Street and Traill Street for an unattended package; the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit inspected the item and determined it was not hazardous.
Monday, September 7, 2:04 p.m. — Package Theft: A Massachusetts Avenue resident reported a package containing $1,100 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Monday, September 7, 3:02 p.m. — Arrest: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported that Weldebruk Hadgu had stolen $68.60 in merchandise. Weldebruk Hadgu, 43, of Cambridge, was charged with shoplifting by asportation.
Monday, September 7, 4:38 p.m. — Larceny: A victim on Pine Street reported a hubcap had been stolen from their parked vehicle.
Monday, September 7, 5:33 p.m. — Bicycle Theft: A Cambridge resident reported their bicycle, valued at $500, was stolen from outside a business on Somerville Avenue.
Monday, September 7, 6:00 p.m. — Package Theft: An Auburn Street resident reported a package containing $10.87 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Monday, September 7, 6:23 p.m. — Arrest: A vehicle operated by Mark Parise was stopped on Palmer Street following a complaint of erratic operation; Parise presented with multiple indicators of impairment during the encounter. Mark Parise, 62, of Cambridge, was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding.
Monday, September 7, 7:24 p.m. — Vandalism: A reporting person on Marney Street stated the front right headlight of their vehicle had been ripped off.
Monday, September 7, 9:00 p.m. — Threats: A reporting person on Norfolk Street stated an unknown individual was yelling threats at them.
