The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period September 5–7, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Saturday, September 5, 9:06 a.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a Somerville Avenue business reported a suspect stole $116 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Saturday, September 5, 9:15 a.m. — Breaking and Entering / Criminal Harassment: Officers responded to the Huron Avenue area for a report of breaking and entering; the victim reported ongoing issues with a neighbor.
Saturday, September 5, 9:52 a.m. — Suspicious Package: Officers responded to Fuller Place for an unattended package; the Explosive Ordnance Unit inspected the item and determined it was not hazardous.
Saturday, September 5, 10:32 a.m. — Package Theft: A Prescott Street resident reported a package containing $120 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Saturday, September 5, 10:49 a.m. — Hit and Run: A Jefferson Street resident reported their parked vehicle was struck and damaged; the other driver fled the scene.
Saturday, September 5, 11:46 a.m. — Package Theft / Larceny: A CambridgePark Drive resident reported a package expected to contain $2,500 in merchandise arrived empty.
Saturday, September 5, 1:28 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a CambridgeSide Place business reported a suspect stole $500 in merchandise and fled before officers arrived.
Saturday, September 5, 3:08 p.m. — Bicycle Theft: A Cambridge resident reported a bicycle and lock, valued at $380, were stolen from a back patio rack at their residence on Clay Street.
Saturday, September 5, 3:46 p.m. — Arrest: Officers approached Michael Bonislawski at the intersection of Seventh Street and Cambridge Street after receiving a report he was yelling at passersby; during the encounter he continued disorderly behavior and spit on two officers. Michael Bonislawski, 60, of Cambridge, was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
Saturday, September 5, 8:54 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Violation: A Stoughton resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle on a public roadway, uncovered during a traffic stop at Massachusetts Avenue and Sidney Street.
Saturday, September 5, 11:19 p.m. — Crash, Cyclist Injured: Officers responded to the Quincy Street area for a crash involving a cyclist; the cyclist reported being struck by a vehicle while attempting a turn and sustained minor injuries.
Saturday, September 5, 11:50 p.m. — Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon: Officers responded to the Massachusetts Avenue area after an unknown person sprayed pepper spray on several people inside a crowded bar.
Sunday, September 6, 2:11 a.m. — Vandalism: A vehicle exiting a Green Street business's parking lot struck the gate to avoid payment, causing malicious damage to property.
Sunday, September 6, 6:02 a.m. — Malicious Destruction / False Fire Alarm: An unknown individual sprayed a fire extinguisher and pulled the fire alarm at a Brattle Street business.
Sunday, September 6, 9:23 a.m. — Theft: An employee of a White Street business reported a suspect stole a phone from a customer and fled before officers arrived.
Sunday, September 6, 11:12 a.m. — Arrest: Officers observed Robert Attwood drawing on the wall outside a White Street business. Robert Attwood, 44, of Weymouth, was charged with Defacement of Property.
Sunday, September 6, 1:47 p.m. — Credit Card Fraud: A Fairmont Avenue resident reported an unknown individual made fraudulent purchases of $56.99 using their credit card information.
Sunday, September 6, 3:09–3:29 p.m. — Shoplifting: Employees of an Alewife Brook Parkway business reported two separate shoplifting incidents; suspects stole approximately $101.96 and approximately $30 in merchandise, respectively, fleeing before officers arrived in each case.
Sunday, September 6, 4:53 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Violation: A Boston resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uncovered during a traffic stop at Harvard Street and Prospect Street.
Sunday, September 6, 6:01 p.m. — Crash, Cyclist Injured: Officers responded to the area of Coolidge Avenue and Mt. Auburn Street for a crash involving a cyclist; the cyclist sustained minor injuries and the motorist was cited.
Sunday, September 6, 6:48 p.m. — Arrest / Shoplifting: An employee of an Alewife Brook Parkway business reported a suspect stole $296.89 in merchandise. A Boston resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a charge of Larceny Under $1,200.
Monday, September 7, 12:50 a.m. — Assault and Battery: Officers responded to Washington Street for a report of a fight; involved persons were identified and released; non-life-threatening injuries were reported.
Monday, September 7, 8:11 a.m. — Threats: Officers responded to the Washington Street and Windsor Street area after an unknown individual made threats against a resident and their family.
Monday, September 7, 8:32 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Violation: An Everett resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges related to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uncovered during a traffic stop at Brattle Street and Palmer Street.
Monday, September 7, 9:31 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Break-In: A Kenwood Street resident reported their vehicle was broken into while parked in front of their residence; a wallet containing multiple credit cards was stolen, and the cards were subsequently used in unauthorized transactions.
Monday, September 7, 10:04 a.m. — Arrest: An employee of a Somerville Avenue business reported Ryan Hurley stole several energy drinks from the business. Ryan Hurley, 43, of Somerville, was charged with Shoplifting by Asportation.
Monday, September 7, 12:51 p.m. — Shoplifting: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported a suspect stole $68 in merchandise. A Malden resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a charge of Shoplifting by Concealment.
Monday, September 7, 1:01 p.m. — Hit and Run: Officers responded to the Rindge Avenue area for a past hit-and-run report; a resident's parked vehicle was struck and damaged and the other driver fled the scene.
Monday, September 7, 1:13 p.m. — Larceny: Officers responded to Boardman Street for a past larceny report; a victim stated their Social Security card and keys were missing from their bag.
Monday, September 7, 1:21 p.m. — Threats: A Temple Street resident reported being the victim of threats.
Monday, September 7, 1:30 p.m. — Suspicious Package: Officers responded to the Mt. Auburn Street and Traill Street area for an unattended package; the Explosive Ordnance Unit inspected the item and determined it was not hazardous.
Monday, September 7, 2:04 p.m. — Package Theft: A Massachusetts Avenue resident reported a package containing $1,100 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Monday, September 7, 3:02 p.m. — Arrest: An employee of a Massachusetts Avenue business reported Weldebruk Hadgu stole $68.60 in merchandise. Weldebruk Hadgu, 43, of Cambridge, was charged with Shoplifting by Asportation.
Monday, September 7, 4:38 p.m. — Larceny: A Pine Street resident reported a hubcap was stolen from their parked vehicle at the Eaton Street and Pine Street area.
Monday, September 7, 5:33 p.m. — Bicycle Theft: A Cambridge resident reported a bicycle valued at $500 was stolen from outside a business on Somerville Avenue.
Monday, September 7, 6:00 p.m. — Package Theft: An Auburn Street resident reported a package containing $10.87 in merchandise was stolen from the front of their residence.
Monday, September 7, 6:23 p.m. — Arrest: A vehicle operated by Mark Parise was stopped on Palmer Street following a complaint of erratic operation; Parise presented with multiple indicators of impairment during the encounter. Mark Parise, 62, of Cambridge, was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Speeding.
Monday, September 7, 7:24 p.m. — Vandalism: A Marney Street resident reported the front right headlight of their vehicle had been ripped off.
Monday, September 7, 9:00 p.m. — Threats: Officers responded to Norfolk Street after an unknown individual yelled threats at a resident.
