The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Cambridge Police Department's official public log for the period September 16-17, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Wednesday, September 16, 8:13 a.m. — Vandalism: A vehicle parked at a business on Fair Oaks Street was found with its hood scratched.
Wednesday, September 16, 8:27 a.m. — Shoplifting: An attempted theft of $28.47 in merchandise from a Massachusetts Avenue business was stopped by loss prevention staff.
Wednesday, September 16, 8:38 a.m. — Arrest: An individual was taken into custody on Massachusetts Avenue on three active warrants from Cambridge, Waltham, and Boston District Courts. Brittany Stivaletta, 37, listed as unhoused, was arrested on the warrants.
Wednesday, September 16, 9:06 a.m. — Dooring incident: A cyclist was doored by a vehicle on Massachusetts Avenue; the driver was cited and no injuries were reported.
Wednesday, September 16, 9:25 a.m. — Dooring incident: A cyclist was doored by a vehicle near Columbia and Main Streets. The driver was cited and the cyclist was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Wednesday, September 16, 9:41 a.m. — Larceny: A suspect stole $594 in merchandise from a Massachusetts Avenue business and fled before officers arrived.
Wednesday, September 16, 10:43 a.m. — Package theft: A package containing $95 in merchandise was stolen from a Rindge Avenue residence.
Wednesday, September 16, 11:05 a.m. — Arrest: An officer observed a man in Central Square with a substance believed to be crack cocaine. Dewon Wheeler, 54, of Cambridge, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class B Substance.
Wednesday, September 16, 12:22 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $117 in merchandise from a Brattle Street business and fled before officers arrived.
Wednesday, September 16, 1:02 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole approximately $200 in merchandise from a Somerville Avenue business and fled before officers arrived.
Wednesday, September 16, 1:19 p.m. — Package theft: A package containing $77 in merchandise was stolen from a Rindge Avenue residence.
Wednesday, September 16, 1:30 p.m. — Larceny: A guitar, tent, and tarp were reported stolen from a person at a Church Street business.
Wednesday, September 16, 4:03 p.m. — Package theft: A package containing $150 in merchandise was stolen from a Massachusetts Avenue residence.
Wednesday, September 16, 4:10 p.m. — Package theft: A package containing $97.54 in merchandise was stolen from a Prospect Street residence.
Wednesday, September 16, 4:12 p.m. — Arrest: A man was arrested on Massachusetts Avenue on two warrants out of South Boston and Boston District Courts. Kevin Whyte, 41, of Cambridge, was arrested on the warrants.
Wednesday, September 16, 4:34 p.m. — Hit and run: A vehicle was struck while in traffic on Alewife Brook Parkway; the other driver fled. No injuries were reported.
Wednesday, September 16, 5:04 p.m. — Package theft: A package containing $54 in merchandise was stolen from a Rindge Avenue residence.
Wednesday, September 16, 5:32 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $55 in merchandise from a Somerville Avenue business and fled before officers arrived.
Wednesday, September 16, 8:26 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $41 in merchandise from a Massachusetts Avenue business. A New Bedford resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a charge of Shoplifting by Asportation.
Wednesday, September 16, 9:13 p.m. — Hit and run: A parked vehicle on Clary Street was struck and damaged; the other driver fled.
Wednesday, September 16, 9:13 p.m. — Arrest: Officers responding to a disturbance near Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street found two people in possession of suspected crack cocaine. Karolann Hillard, 54, of Somerville, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class B Drug; a Cambridge resident will be summonsed on a charge of Distribution of a Class B Drug.
Wednesday, September 16, 11:19 p.m. — Breaking and entering: Police responded to a possible breaking and entering at a Pleasant Street residence; no one was found inside.
Thursday, September 17, 7:12 a.m. — Arrest: A man was arrested on Sixth Street on an active warrant out of Middlesex Superior Court. Giovani Arroyo, 22, of Hyde Park, was arrested on the warrant.
Thursday, September 17, 8:12 a.m. — Hit and run: A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Robinson Street sustained minor injuries; the driver fled.
Thursday, September 17, 8:22 a.m. — Hit and run: A parked vehicle on Amory Street was struck and damaged; the other driver fled.
Thursday, September 17, 9:51 a.m. — Larceny: A bicycle valued at $1,200 was stolen from a locked fence outside a residence on Elm Street.
Thursday, September 17, 10:26 a.m. — Crash: A vehicle and motorcycle collided on Main Street; no injuries were reported and one operator was cited.
Thursday, September 17, 12:11 p.m. — Traffic stop: A Boston resident will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court on a charge of Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle following a stop near Bent and Third Streets.
Thursday, September 17, 12:34 p.m. — Hit and run: A parked vehicle on Alewife Brook Parkway was struck and damaged; the other driver fled.
Thursday, September 17, 12:47 p.m. — Hit and run: A parked vehicle on Essex Street was struck and damaged; the other driver fled.
Thursday, September 17, 1:01 p.m. — Crash: A scooter was involved in a crash on Brattle Street; one person was cited and non-life-threatening injuries were reported.
Thursday, September 17, 2:51 p.m. — Crash: An e-bike was involved in a crash near Brattle and Craigie Streets; one operator was cited and no injuries were reported.
Thursday, September 17, 4:08 p.m. — Public lewdness: Police responded to a report of a sexual act committed in public on Huron Avenue; those involved fled before officers arrived.
Thursday, September 17, 5:11 p.m. — Hit and run: A parked vehicle on Windsor Street was struck and damaged; the other driver fled.
Thursday, September 17, 5:16 p.m. — Arrest: A man was arrested on Franklin Street. Tyquan Lamar, 30, listed as unhoused, was charged with Possession of a Class A Substance, Intimidation of a Witness, Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, and Threats to Commit a Crime.
Thursday, September 17, 5:47 p.m. — Arrest: A woman was arrested on Alewife Brook Parkway. Kerri Hultman, 23, of Barre, was charged with Possession of a Class E Drug, Intent to Distribute a Class E Drug, Defacing Property, and an outstanding warrant out of Winchendon District Court.
Thursday, September 17, 8:19 p.m. — Shoplifting: A suspect stole $158 in merchandise from a White Street business and fled before officers arrived.
Thursday, September 17, 8:24 p.m. — Larceny: A bicycle valued at $900 was stolen from a locked pole on Clary Street.
