Harvard Square's Lot 2 to close Nov. 2 for repairs
Lot 2, the parking garage beneath the Harvard Square Hotel, will close entirely starting Nov. 2 while Harvard University finishes structural repairs, with work expected to wrap by Jan. 30, 2027.
The city of Cambridge announced Oct. 27 that Lot 2, the parking garage beneath the Harvard Square Hotel, will close entirely beginning Monday, Nov. 2, while Harvard University completes structural repairs.
Portions of the lot had already been closed to parkers for construction earlier this year, but the entire garage will now be shut down for the rest of the project so crews can finish repairs and stage construction equipment. The work is expected to be completed by Jan. 30, 2027.
The Harvard Square Hotel will also close during construction and is expected to reopen in February 2027. The city said nearby residents and businesses may experience some construction-related noise while the work is underway.
