CAMBRIDGE -- December 10, 2024, Cambridge City Council rates City Manager Yi-An Huang 3.29 out of 4 in special December 10 evaluation. Eight of nine councillors participated in the special meeting, with Mayor Simmons absent; Councillor Toner presided. Huang's highest score was 3.41 in fiscal management, with the council citing Cambridge's strong fiscal foundation and improvements to long-term budget forecasting; his lowest was 3.07 in leadership, where the council called for goals that are "more specific and measurable." The council also flagged the C-Click Fix resident services platform as needing improvement and asked for more frequent updates on the city's anti-racism and diversity ordinance. Councillor Carlone credited Huang for embracing a 360-degree review format, calling it a model for broader HR reform: "that is the way that you get to a review to set forward to a path of success." No members of the public signed up to comment, and no formal votes were taken.
