Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Cambridge Library Board of Trustees received an update on strategic planning grounded in extensive community input. Director Maria McCauley and Deputy Director Joy Kim presented findings from over 2,100 survey responses and more than 300 community chat participants, showing the library is viewed as a beloved institution with high service satisfaction. Early findings revealed community demand for expanded STEAM programming, additional library hours, and strong appreciation for neighborhood branch locations.
The updated strategic framework will be brought to the board for approval in the early fall. The board also learned that the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library raised over $50,000 at their biennial Secret Garden Tour fundraiser on June 7.
