Cambridge Sets August 10 Start For Citywide Road Paving
CAMBRIDGE — The city announced that road milling and paving work will begin citywide on August 10, while Cambridge Patch reported a new fight over the deteriorating bathhouse at Magazine Beach that it framed as a public health issue.
TOWN HALL
The city's contractor, Newport Construction, will begin roadway milling and paving operations on several street sections around Cambridge starting August 10, weather permitting, to improve road conditions, according to a city announcement.
The city is also seeking residents to fill vacancies on three boards: the Commercial Parking Control Committee, the Commission on Immigrant Rights and Citizenship, and the Police Review and Advisory Board. Applications for each are due by August 21, the city said.
Separately, the city's mattress and box spring recycling program changed as of July 20. Residents who schedule a pickup through UTEC will now pay a portion of the collection and recycling cost, with the city continuing to subsidize the remainder, according to the city's announcement.
