Cambridge Begins Citywide Street Paving Work Monday
Cambridge's paving contractor began milling and repaving work on several city streets this week, the most concrete development to come out of Public Works as residents also saw changes take effect in the city's mattress recycling program.

The city's contractor, Newport Construction, began roadway milling and paving operations beginning Monday, August 10, weather permitting, to enhance road conditions on multiple sections of street around Cambridge, according to a City of Cambridge News Flash. The city did not specify which streets in the portion of the announcement provided.
Separately, changes to the Cambridge Mattress and Box Spring Recycling Collection Program took effect July 20. Residents who schedule a mattress or box spring pickup through UTEC will now pay a portion of the collection and recycling cost, while the city continues to subsidize the remainder, the city said.

The city's free Tuesday evening concert series at Danehy Park continues this week, with the next installment set for Tuesday, August 11. The series, featuring local musicians, has run since July 1 as a free community offering, according to the city.
